About the Role
Few of the responsibilities for this position are:
Planning and coordinating the shipping and delivery process:
This includes managing inbound and outbound shipments, selecting shipping carriers, negotiating rates, scheduling deliveries, generating delivery notes and ensuring accurate and timely order fulfilment.
Optimising warehouse operations:
Managing inventory levels*, implementing storage and picking systems, overseeing warehouse staff, and maintaining safety and security procedures.
Budgeting and cost control:
Monitoring transportation and warehousing costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and implementing cost-saving measures.
Technology utilisation*:
Sourcing and using logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports.*
Remaining current with the latest logistics technologies and implementing them to improve efficiency.
Customer service:
Communicating effectively with customers regarding order status, delivery times, and any issues that may arise. Resolving customer complaints and ensuring their satisfaction.
Building strong relationships: Fostering relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders in the supply chain.
Data analysis and reporting:
Analysing shipping and inventory data to identify trends, track performance, and make informed decisions about logistics operations.
Project management:
Leading and managing logistics-related projects, such as warehouse expansions or software implementations.

Requirements
Key Qualifications required for this position:
Logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in logistics management, ideally fromĀ a small/medium growing business environment.
Strong understanding of logistics principles, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and customer service.
Proven ability to manage budgets, track costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and logistics software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptability and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills (desired):
Experience with Six Sigma or other lean manufacturing methodologies.
Forklift operator certification.
Knowledge of international shipping regulations.
